Rediscovered in 1991 by L. Janeway. Threatened by vehicles. Potentially threatened by road maintenance, overshading, and non-native plants. See Canadian Journal of Botany 49:1211-1217 (1971) for original description, Madroņo 40(4):268-269 (1993) for information on rediscovery, and Madroņo 42(1):79-82 (1995) for taxonomic discussion.
