White-flowered plants of KRN Co. (E. kernensis sensu stricto) known from fewer than twenty occurrences. Seriously threatened by agriculture, grazing, and oil development. See E. parryi ssp. kernensis in TJM (1993). See Phytologia 72(1):48-54 (1992) for alternate taxonomic treatment which includes lavender-flowered plants and broadens range to west, and Madroņo 49(1):22-24 (2002) for sympatry with E. exilis.
