FALL PLANT SALE: Going to the North Country Fair? While you're in Arcata, don't miss the California Native Plant Society's native plant sale on Saturday, September 17, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary Interpretive Center parking lot, 569 South G Street. (5 blocks south of Samoa Blvd.) Prepare for the fall planting season. Get your native shrubs, trees, perennials, bulbs, and ferns - suitable for a wide variety of natural and human habitats. Buy only one plant or fill your pickup - experienced gardeners on hand to help you choose. A wide array of native plants will be available, from wildflowers to trees and shrubs, and experienced growers will help answer your questions and assist in choosing plants. While shopping for native plants for your garden, you can also see native plants used in landscaping around the building. Bring the beauty of Humboldt's forests, meadows and dunes to your garden! Don't let this list limit your ideas - almost every plant found a permanent home, including 3 types of ferns, shore pines, and coyote brush.
